Sci-Fi movies

I was just looking at TV and realized that there are going to be a few seemingly good Sci-Fi movies I'm going to watch this year.  I'd just like to share a few of them.

Battle: Los Angeles is one I'm really interested in seeing. I saw UFOs, Aliens, and war. I was instantly hooked.

Cowboys and Aliens is the next one. I like what they're trying to incorporate for this movie. I even hope the Rockstar team behind the making of Red Dead Redemption make an expansion for Aliens vs Cowboys, like they did with Zombies being brought into the game.

Not only are those what I'm so desperately waiting to see. I'm also ready for Transformers 3. I've watched Transformers since Beast Wars, and even went back to watch the original movie. I even kept up to all of the animated series afterward. The first Transformers did a excellent job, and the second did just as good, but seemed like they lacked a bit. (I WANTED MORE DEVESTATOR!) I'm hoping for the third installment to do a near-perfect job.

Those are my three most sought after movies for this year so far that have yet to release. I'm also interested in the Green Lantern, Thor, and Captain America movies, but for some reason I have a feeling they won't be as great as they could, hopefully I'm proven wrong.

My High Definition Experience

Last weekend, I bought Mass Effect 2 for the PS3, I held off on playing it until I got the rest of the things I wanted which was an HDTV and HDMI cable. On Sunday, I did exactly that, of course it cut into the time of the Super Bowl, but I'm no big fan of sports. I went to Best Buy and bought a 32 inch, 720p, 60Hz Dynex HDTV and Sony HDMI cable. Once I got home to set up everything and see what it looked liked. I was in awe.

I knew HD was good, but after setting it up and playing my PS3 on it, I began to reminisce on how my games played on my old TV. I could barely read things on the screen like the text for instructions in game, but with this new TV I saw everything so clearly. I had already put Mass Effect 2 in and let it install and the Cerberus Network download the day before I bought my TV. So when I played the game and was going through that interactive comic I couldn't wait to see how everything was going to be. I LOVED how it looked once I started and was creating my character, and even more when I played and was actually going around to do stuff. The Killzone 3 Beta also went well with it. I aimed better, and could actually see where things were easily, and the graphics just...they were excellent, but hey I'm a new adopter to HD so mostly everything is going to be awesome in my eyes.

Buying this HDTV instead of just pouring all my cash into games is perhaps the best investment I've made thus far. Some of the games I've beaten, but have yet to get all the trophies/achievements for, they might get a replay because of this TV, if I don't get so bogged down into new games.

Next misson, achieve a 40 inch, 1080p, 120Hz (or 240Hz) HDTV. Although the only downside to 240Hz is that everything looked so real and detailed until it looked fake and straight computer generated.

Super Bowl

So today when I was driving to the college campus I heard a rather interesting song come on.
Green and Yellow by Lil Wayne...

Despite all the remixes to the song, originally titled Black and Yellow by Whiz Khalifa, this is one of the ones that caught my interest. The Super Bowl is going to be rather interesting this year, especially with The Black Eyed Peas and Usher during half-time (and of course the teams playing lol)!!!!!

Who do you think is going to win, Packers or Steelers?

Demon Souls Sequel - Trailer Revealed

If you haven't played Demon's Souls, a game known for it's very challenging difficulty, then you've missed out on a great JRPG. However, now a sequel is on the horizon, except instead of being exclusive to the PS3 it will also be available on the Xbox 360 and PC, which allows it to obviously reach a wider audience. I was a late adopter to Demon's Souls, but once I played it, I realized that game should be experienced by everyone who is a fan of RPGs. Even though many people claimed that the eastern world weren't doing so good with games this generation, Demon's Souls truly stood out among them in a league of its own. Enjoy the trailer of Demon's Souls sequel.

The Sony NGP (Next Generation Portable) or PSP2 (Play Station Portable 2) as we would call it. The NGP will be releasing sometime around or before Holiday 20111. It has also been stated that instead of UMDs it will use a new format. The NGP has  also so far proven to be a excellent piece of technology through it's performance and ability to run PS3-based games with the same quality as PS3, which was stated by Hideo Kojima.

Impressive hardware, eh?

This is a video of Hideo Kojima running Metal Gear Solid 4 running on the NGP.

If you're still not won over by that, then look no further, an Uncharted title that is being made for the NGP was also shown running on it.

If either of those don't interest you in the quality of games to come to it, then I don't know what to say to you.

Along with the promising features it has, as well as quality games to come, the Sony NGP is surely here to give the Nintendo 3DS a run for it's money.

According to Ripten, one of their GameStop sources claimed that they would be taking pre-orders on the NGP for a $50 deposit with the final price of it being $299. The 3DS has been set at $249. If you want more for your buck, and promising line up of great games  and features, the NGP is definitely worth it.

Not only that, but in addition to Metal Gear Solid and Uncharted games for the NGP, there has also been said to be a Call of Duty and Killzone game being developed for it as well. Epic Games, the makers of the critically acclaimed Gears of War series, vice president Mark Rein spoke of his experience with the NGP from playing their demo, and Dungeon Defenders. It resulted in him saying "[The NGP is] in the same class as the PlayStation 3."

After everything from developers and the proof they've shown, I have faith placed upon the NGP. It could revolutionize the way handheld consoles are meant to be. I will be investing in this. How about you?
